Senioritis

 Sunday, February 20, 2011

It's back. After four years, senioritis is back to bite me in the ass. I did not complete a homework assignment for one of my biology classes, nor did I even attempt to complete it. Actually, I did attempt. I read the questions, asked myself if I knew how to answer them, and then I woke up at the following morning wondering what the hell happened. That counts as an attempt, right? And what's worse is that homework constitutes 50% of our grade in this class.

I wouldn't care so much if I had already gained admission to optometry school. But, that's not the case, so I still have to strive for that A.

Anyway, I think I'm going to start posting beauty, fashion, and health related posts. But, I'll still post insightful entries or rants every now and then.

Where's my tongue?

 Sunday, April 18, 2010

I lost a piece of my tongue. I'm sure the image that probably formed in your head just now is very much exaggerated, but I still did bite very deeply into my tongue. I was gorging down a big, juicy Jerry's sub, trying to dismiss my sub-conscious that was chastising me for consuming something so high in calories, fat, and everything bad. I was chewing so viciously that I felt a piece of my tongue fall off when my teeth sank into my tongue. It was a very very small piece, but still. Ouch! That was yesterday. The pain seems to be exacerbating though.

This is horrible timing because I have 5 papers and an exam this week. I just gotta suck it up. Actually, I have been doing a lot of sucking....... of my saliva, that is. Ok, this entry is pointless. I need to start on my assignments now!

Decisions, decisions, decisions

 Wednesday, April 14, 2010

When you're young, your whole life is about the pursuit of fun. Then, you grow up and learn to be cautious; you could break a bone or a heart. You look before you leap and sometimes, you don't leap at all because there's not always someone there to catch you. Unfortunately, there is no firmly planted safety net in life.

I'm currently in a few situations where I'm contemplating on taking that leap. Hopefully, I'll make the right decisions but if not, I'll learn from them.

On an unrelated note, I just found out that I got into a summer program at Yale University. It's a biological based, unpaid internship. Yes--unpaid. Gah! I was positive that this was going to be a paid internship, but I must have missed the very fine print in the lengthy application that said this. This internship will look outstanding on my resume, but I'm really tight on money, and I already have 2 well paid jobs lined up for the summer. These jobs will also look good on my resume, but c'mon... the Asian in me thinks Yale University >>> job at an optometry practice in Costco and at Stamp Student Union. Well, I still have about a week to decide so I'll do that as a means of procrastinating. Anyway, I should get back to feigning attentiveness in physics discussion. Bye yall.
